Lichen Sclerosis is a condition that creates patchy, white skin that’s thinner than normal. Lichen sclerosis can affect skin anywhere on your body, but it mostly involves the skin of the vulva or skin around the anus.
Lichen sclerosis is not contagious and cannot spread through sexual intercourse.
Symptoms may include:
- Itching (pruritus), which can be severe
- Discomfort or pain
- Smooth white spots on your skin
- Blotchy, wrinkled patches
- Easy Bruising or tearing
- Painful intercourse
